Vascular Improvement for Performance in Sports

Heart Disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. Although commonly labeled as a disease of the elderly, the disease affects young adults as well. The disease occurs in young adults because of various factors, but Coronary Artery Disease and atherosclerosis cause the majority of occurrences. Despite status of asymptomatic individuals, atherosclerosis is prevalent in ages 18-25, and risk factors are similar as those for adults. The goal of the study is to educate young adults in vascular health, and to show that despite appearing as healthy individuals, underlying physiology may show that progression of disease is apparent.
